As part of Heart of Midlothian FC’s 150th anniversary celebrations, Pixel Stag created three bespoke touchscreen interactives for the Heart of Midlothian Museum, enriching the visitor experience along the Maroon Mile.

150 Years Timeline – An immersive journey through the club’s rich history, featuring archival photos, videos, audio clips, and oral histories that bring key moments to life.

Oral History Archive – A searchable database of over 200 oral histories capturing the voices and memories of the local community. This collection highlights the social and cultural impact of Hearts across generations.

Top Trumps Game – A playful, fan-focused interactive that lets visitors compare legendary players from the past 150 years—mixing nostalgia with friendly competition.

These interactives were designed to celebrate heritage, amplify community voices, and create memorable, engaging experiences for football fans of all ages.

Pixel Stag created three bespoke AV experiences for the Lloyd George Museum, exploring the life and legacy of one of the UK’s most influential Prime Ministers.

Interactive Telephone – A tactile, handset-based experience sharing three personal audio stories from different community perspectives – including Eisteddfod, farming life, and tales of his romantic relationships.

Funeral Film – A moving audiovisual piece capturing the community spirit at Lloyd George’s funeral in Llanystumdwy. The film highlights his choice to be buried in Wales, accompanied by a poignant wartime hymn.

Early Life Stories – A button-operated audio installation exploring Lloyd George’s childhood and formative years. Visitors can select from four narrated stories that highlight the influence of his upbringing, education, and Welsh identity on his future career.

These AV’s were designed to immerse visitors in both the public and deeply personal sides of Lloyd George’s life, firmly grounding his legacy in the Welsh landscape that shaped him.

Pixel Stag developed a fun, mobile-based digital reward to mark the end of the Unicorn Trail at Edinburgh Castle, commissioned by Historic Environment Scotland.

The experience begins with a short animated sequence that sets the scene. Visitors are then invited to take a photo using their device’s camera, enter their team name, and receive a personalised animated certificate as a reward. This certificate can be downloaded or shared instantly via the device’s built-in tools.

Designed to work smoothly on both phones and tablets, the interactive runs entirely in the browser—no app required.

Blending playful storytelling with a seamless user experience, this interactive adds a shareable, digital moment of celebration to the family-friendly Unicorn Trail.

Created for the Wardlaw Museum’s 2025 summer exhibition, Rewrite the Future is a four-screen interactive experience exploring how individual choices shape our collective future.

Visitors answer questions on three touchscreen stations—using multiple choice selections, sliders to express preferences, or by assigning points across various options. Each decision instantly updates dynamic graphs showing the impact on personal wellbeing (wealth, comfort, health, power) and wider society (justice, sustainability).

A fourth screen displays a live, cumulative visualisation of all visitor responses, evolving throughout the exhibition. Designed for engagement, reflection, and debate, the experience combines gamification, data tracking, and real-time feedback in a compelling museum setting.

Pixel Stag created an animated, map-based interactive for a WWII-themed exhibition, allowing visitors to explore six key elements of coastal defence: Incidents, Lookouts, AA Guns, Naval Defences, Bases & Camps, and Barriers.

Each category triggers animated overlays that reveal the locations of these features on a historically styled military map. We revised the original graphics for clarity and integrated additional interpretive content to deepen visitor understanding. The final design reflects the exhibition’s established visual identity, using consistent fonts, colour palette, and a wartime cartographic style.

This interactive helps bring the complex defensive landscape of Gairloch’s WWII coastline to life in an accessible, visually compelling format.

Pixel Stag designed and built four animated touchscreen maps for visitor centres across the Seven Lochs Wetland Park. Each map brings the landscape to life with playful animations and interactive hotspots, offering digital wayfinding to help visitors explore walking trails, heritage sites, and wildlife activities.

Visitors can save their favourite activities to their personal devices and access digital leaflets, games, and guides via dynamic QR codes. A custom-built online content management system allows park staff to easily update information across all locations.

Blending functionality with visual storytelling, these maps enhance discovery and encourage continued engagement beyond the visitor centre.

To mark the centenary of Eric Liddell’s Olympic triumph, Pixel Stag created a digital AV experience celebrating his life, legacy, and enduring impact.

Building on two existing films produced for the Scottish Parliament exhibition, we developed an interactive display incorporating a curated image gallery and digitised personal letters from the Eric Liddell archive. The result is a moving tribute that brings audiences closer to Liddell’s story—both as a sporting hero and humanitarian.

Originally shown at the Scottish Parliament, the installation now has a permanent home at the Eric Liddell Centre in Edinburgh.

Canna House, under the care of the National Trust for Scotland, holds an internationally significant collection of Gaelic folk songs, tales, and artifacts that offer a fascinating insight into the lives of its renowned 20th-century owners, John and Margaret Campbell. Unlike a traditional museum, Canna House remains a home — a space full of character, curiosity, and the enduring spirit of its Gaelic heritage. Stepping through its doors is to step into the Campbells' extraordinary lives, where their passion for Gaelic culture and storytelling resonates in every room.

As part of this project, we created an immersive audio tour that brings the house to life. Visitors are guided by the voices of John and Margaret Campbell, their friends, and local residents, intertwined with Gaelic folk songs and tales that evoke the rich oral traditions they cherished. This spoken narrative connects events, characters, and themes with the spaces of Canna House, ensuring that the story of the Campbells and their enduring love for Gaelic culture continues to inspire.

To enhance accessibility and inclusivity, we installed a hearing loop system, ensuring visitors with hearing impairments can fully engage with the rich storytelling experience.

We also restored vintage technologies within the house, blending old and new to create a truly immersive environment. A vintage projector was brought back to life, complete with running reels, lights, moving buttons, sound effects, and a stunning projection onto a window blind. A Grundig tape recorder was reanimated with spinning reels, audio, and functional buttons, while two vintage radios were made to play once more. These restored devices add an authentic, tactile element to the tour, reinforcing the connection between Canna House’s living history and its rich cultural legacy.

Through these efforts, Canna House once again opens its doors in the spirit of Gaelic tradition, inviting visitors to experience its stories, sounds, and vibrant history, all while ensuring that this extraordinary cultural treasure is accessible to everyone.

The Árni Magnússon Institute in Reykjavík, Iceland, unveiled a breathtaking and immersive exhibition showcasing the world’s rarest and oldest collection of Icelandic manuscripts, including the earliest record of Norse mythology. This eagerly anticipated exhibition will feature the Institute’s UNESCO World Heritage-recognized collection, a treasure trove of Iceland’s rich manuscript culture. From Norse mythology and worldview to the Icelandic Sagas, Eddas, and books of Law, visitors will explore key themes that offer profound insights into the culture, beliefs, and stories of early Icelanders.

As part of this extraordinary endeavour, we contributed to the visitor experience by developing eight digital labels to guide visitors through the manuscripts on display, an interactive exhibit exploring the techniques used to create them, and another showcasing the evolution of language in Iceland. I also created an animated interactive illustration focused on the four humours and the medical knowledge portrayed in the manuscripts, helping to bring these remarkable artefacts to life for a global audience. This exhibition breathes life into Iceland’s cultural heritage, offering an unparalleled opportunity to connect with the stories and traditions preserved within these ancient manuscripts.

As part of the continuing development of Trimontium Museums offering to its visitors we setup software allowing the staff to run virtual reality shows to 8 people simultaneously and on the wall mounted cinema screen. The software setup allows syncing of the VR across the headsets and monitor their status (battery, volume, temperature, content) from a control computer. The staff can decide whether to play the video, pause it, fast forward it or maybe stop the playback altogether. If a visitor wishes they can watch the presentation on the large cinema screen instead of the headset.

We filmed and edited a series of seven films exploring the Paget's disease of bone. The skeletons at Norton Priory have extensive Paget's disease and this series of films helps visitors understand the research, people and how this collection help scientist today better understand modern-day Paget’s disease.

The Museum of Scottish Fire Heritage tells the story of Scottish firefighting from its inception to present day. Our contribution was the creation of the digital interactives, enriching the understanding of displayed objects, narrating the heroic tales of firefighters and their roles, offering immersive games to simulate firefighting experiences, and providing a comprehensive database to explore Scotland's historical relationship with fire.

Our user interfaces seamlessly integrate with the physical graphic displays, ensuring a cohesive and immersive experience that seamlessly bridges the digital and tangible aspects of the exhibition.

Pixel Stag played a vital role in the £3.8 million restoration of Provost Skene’s House in Aberdeen's city center. This historic landmark now pays homage to over 100 exceptional figures from Aberdeen and the North-East, who have profoundly influenced the global stage. Pixel Stag's interactive displays and animations within the house bring these narratives to life, encompassing innovators, scientists, writers, sports icons, and entertainers, all with ties to the region. Noteworthy personalities include Nobel laureate Lord Boyd Ord, instrumental in founding the Rowett Institute of Nutrition and Health, operatic soprano Mary Garden, an early entertainment luminary, and football legend Denis Law.

Central to the experience is Pixel Stag's innovative interactive database, allowing visitors to delve into the lives of 40 distinct individuals. This platform also empowers staff to maintain the content, ensuring a dynamic encounter. Tomorrow’s Heroes invites visitors to capture monochrome selfies with an ink-inspired effect, which then become part of a digital mosaic displayed on 20 electronic ink photo frames.

The interactive voting system invites participation in the hall of fame selection, projecting animated highlights of chosen figures' accomplishments. Natural Wonders offers a captivating exploration of three books, showcasing intricate illustrations and drawings with page-turn effects and zoom functionality.

Adding a touch of amusement, Pixel Stag presents a multiple-choice question interactive, guiding visitors on a journey of self-discovery to identify their scientist archetype. The multitouch table accommodates four users for a detailed exploration of the human body and the pioneering work of eight medical experts from Aberdeen's history.

Despite historical limitations, Pixel Stag's dedication to inclusivity shines through with an accessible interactive offering panoramic gallery views to mobility-challenged visitors. This design seamlessly integrates digital elements, enriching the experience. Their user-friendly interface features oversized buttons, narration, and large text, rigorously tested for a comprehensive encounter.

Pixel Stag's contribution to the restoration of Provost Skene’s House showcases their creative prowess, immortalizing unsung heroes and emphasizing the impact of human achievement. We were entrusted with crafting an immersive animation and sound landscape for the Time Traveller: Charles Lyell at Work exhibition at Edinburgh University Libraries. This exhibition delves into the profound contributions of Charles Lyell (1797-1875), a revered geologist and science writer.

Our animated presentation breathes life into Lyell's notebooks, visually animating their pages while incorporating soundscapes. This not only aids in comprehending his detailed descriptions but also illuminates previously unseen sections within these historic notebooks.

Our endeavor was to integrate reflections and contemporary insights into this experience through the use of sound. By doing so, we shed a modern perspective on the notebooks, unveiling the diverse voices and narratives encapsulated within their pages.

We have crafted a series of captivating interactive installations nestled within elegant arch structures in the welcome area of the Royal Hospital for Children & Young People. These installations are designed to captivate and engage children, offering a delightful distraction in the often stressful environment of a hospital waiting room.

Our innovative augmented reality viewers transport children into a world of wonder, offering real-time glimpses into enchanting pod spaces. These pods come alive with animated augmented elements drawn from the imaginative illustrations of Emily Hogarth. Within this digital realm, dragons soar, spaceships cruise, hot air balloons gracefully ascend, lush jungles teem with life, and curious aliens make their presence felt, all responding to the users' actions and the movements of others in the vicinity. This concept of "Journeys of the Imagination" truly comes to life in these immersive experiences.

The magic of Augmented Reality is realized through the seamless fusion of a live-feed camera and layers of digital animation. Our custom software transforms each screen into a dynamic canvas where children can interact with dragons, pilot spaceships, ride hot air balloons, explore jungles, and encounter friendly aliens. These interactions create a vibrant tapestry of movement and activities, all influenced by the actions of the users and fellow adventurers sharing the space.

We also crafted several enchanting interactives where children can summon captivating lighting displays, illuminating the surrounding architecture to change the mood of a dragon, launch a rocket on an exciting journey, and even control the weather itself. These interactive wonders are a testament to our commitment to bringing joy and wonder into the lives of young patients and their families during their time at the hospital.

Step into the captivating narrative of Trimontium, an expansive Roman stronghold that once stood as the grandest settlement beyond Hadrian's Wall. Pixel Stag's interactive marvels breathe life into history, helping to unravel the interactions between the invading Roman forces and the indigenous Iron Age tribes they encountered.

In collaboration with Fleming Woelfell 3D Imaging, we created a 3D interactive experience that seamlessly transports visitors to the heart of ancient times. Embark on a riveting journey through the Roman fort as it stood in all its glory, complete with meticulously crafted animations that guide you through its corridors. Engage with captivating footage showcasing modern-day archaeological endeavors, thoughtfully juxtaposed against the historic backdrop. Dynamic cutaways reveal the architectural marvels of the Roman baths, the commanding Principia, and the resilient Barracks, offering a comprehensive glimpse into the fort's bustling existence. As you explore, immerse yourself further through carefully curated soundscapes, infusing the atmosphere with an authentic touch.

Our ingenuity extends to digital labels that elucidate the enigmatic artifacts on display. Seamlessly integrating into the exhibition, these labels serve as informative companions, enriching your understanding of the past.

Elevating the experience further is an AV theatre, a realm where visitors are empowered to select from an array of captivating films. We subtitled the existing media, ensuring accessibility for all. The interface harmoniously mirrors the design ethos of the exhibition graphics.

Pixel Stag developed a high-resolution touchscreen interactive for Manchester Museum, allowing visitors to explore 27 display cases in exceptional detail. The interactive allows users to zoom deep into ultra-high-resolution images, revealing textures, inscriptions, and fine details not easily seen in the gallery.

Interactive hotspots layered over each case provide additional interpretation and context, adding a digital dimension to the existing physical displays. This approach allowed the museum to enrich visitor engagement without altering the original cases.

The result is a powerful blend of traditional exhibition and modern digital storytelling.

For this exhibition we created 4 interactives and an animation that help you explore the challenges we face in fighting five of the most persistent parasites and discover the people who are fighting against them.

Pixel Stag developed all of the digital interactives for Gairloch Museum’s award-winning redevelopment, creating a series of immersive experiences that explore the natural, geological, and cultural heritage of Wester Ross. The museum’s transformation was recognised with the prestigious Art Fund Museum of the Year 2020 award.

Highlights include the Natural and Geological History Interactive, featuring maps, videos, and photos that invite visitors to explore the local landscape and wildlife. A Conservation Map and geological overlays offer deeper insights into the region’s unique environment, while a Jump Mat lets visitors generate and visualise their own seismic waves in real time.

Audio exhibits include the Lighthouse Listening Point, with stories from 81 lighthouse keepers, a Gaelic Culture Listening Post, and a World War II Listening Post preserving voices from the past. A digital signage system also keeps visitors up to date with the museum’s events and exhibitions.

All hardware was supplied and installed by Wavetek, with whom we worked closely to deliver a robust and engaging visitor experience that helped secure the museum’s national recognition.

As part of the award-winning transformation of Aberdeen Art Gallery, Pixel Stag developed 18 bespoke digital interactives to bring the collection to life for a modern audience.

Highlights include a selfie booth, where visitors can dress up and display their photo in a digital gallery; a vase-decorating interactive, which allows users to virtually glaze and fire their designs, projection-mapped onto a real vase; and a 3D timeline, exploring the architectural evolution of the gallery from 1873 to today.

Visitors can also simulate creating an etching, guided by filmed footage of the real process; interact with digital labels offering rich media stories behind objects; and explore hidden parts of the collection, including pottery, mid-1800s table settings, and more artworks than could fit on the walls.

This suite of interactives blends craft, storytelling and technology—supporting the gallery’s mission to make art and heritage accessible, playful and deeply engaging.

Pixel Stag was awarded the contract to develop 9 all-new games. The games help you to learn how fulmar chicks protect themselves from predators, why our kelp forests are such important marine habitats and the amazing animals which flourish in the deepest parts of our seas, living on Scotland’s cold-water coral reefs plus much more.

Several of these interactive required us to integrate with electromechanical inputs supplied by other contractors. Both our fulmar defense interactive and seal whiskers interactive use joysticks. Visitors play as a fulmar chick defending itself from threats using a joystick mounted on the table to aim and fire ‘stomach oil’ at threats which pop up on the screen.

In the seal whiskers game visitors play as a hungry seal searching for a fish in a murky kelp forest. A joystick on the table is used to control the seal on the screen. Visitors must find and follow the trail of a fish across the map. When they are on the right trail, the joystick vibrates. They must find and eat as many fish as possible in one minute.

The Bass rock interactive shows a time lapse of the Bass Rock changes throughout the years by moving through a series of images of the island that act as a time-lapse of a year. Visitors move through the images either by using a physical dial in front of the screen.

Pixel Stag were commissioned to develop all of the digital exhibits for the new Jim Clark Motorsport Museum.

At the heart of the new exhibition is one of the world’s greatest trophy collections in all of motorsport. The Jim Clark Trophy Collection features over 130 trophies, medals, cups and items of memorabilia. Pixel Stag created 3 tablets that can be slid along rails in front of the columns of trophy’s. Once in front of each column the tablet automatically relays information, imagery and film bespoke to each trophy.

Pixel Stag developed a software and hardware solution that was extremely robust for use within a public exhibition space. Our solution was completely bespoke and had to be integrated into the shop fit. We worked with the shop fitter and designer to make sure our hardware and fitted with the design of the exhibition.

We also produced a touchscreen interactive exploring how safety has improved since Jim Clark raced.

The exhibition also include a number of video and audio posts where visitors can select films taking visitors back in time, including rare archive film, British Pathe and interviews from the 1960’s with Jim Clark, his team mechanics and those he raced against. Some of the most revealing and emotional films include interviews with his close friends and family.

As part of the world-class exhibition and visitor centre for Mackintosh at the Willow, adjoining the original Willow Tea Rooms we created several digital interactives.

Combining a projected plate and touchscreen menu the first allows you to see what would have been on the menu in the original Willow Tea Rooms. Two games challenge you to buy a birthday meal within budget and the other to identify what dish to serve. We animated each dish to make them a bit gory/fun.

Our three drawing room interactives allow visitors to zoom in on the detail of Mackintosh’s drawings and watch videos on the renovation of the Willow Tea Rooms.

We also created a number of simple video player interactives.

The Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders Regimental Museum unfolds the rich history of the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, a distinguished Highland Regiment with enduring ties to Stirling Castle spanning over two centuries.

Within the museum we created several interactive exhibits featuring sound, video, and image archives. These dynamic displays allow the museum to showcase some of the extensive digital media collection gathered by the regiment, enhancing the visitor experience.

We produced an animation to tell the stories of the Bamburgh Bones. St Aidan Crypt is the last resting place of the people who lived in Bamburgh 1,400 years ago, when it was the cosmopolitan centre of Anglo-Saxon Northumbria.

The projection and interactive technology tells the fabulous story of Bamburgh and the stories behind the people in the Bowl Hole Ossuary.

As part of the celebrations for the 150th anniversary of the The National Wallace Monument a new exhibition was created. We were commissioned to create the majority of the innovative digital interpretation to tell the story of William Wallace to modern audiences from all over the world.

Our Stirling Landscape interactive allows you to see the view as it is today, and then see it as Wallace would have seen it in 1297, looking out across Stirling, with a detailed reconstruction of the landscape and important historic landmarks. Using a joystick at one of the three interactive screens you can fly around the landscape and to find out more about each landmark.

We created simple digital panels that translated the english content into 8 languages.

The Making a Hero interactive allows you to listen to extras from famous works relevant to Wallace and provides simple games for children like the stain glass window jigsaw.

The exhibition also celebrates Scottish females hero’s. You can find out more about the women and play a quiz to see how you would be most like. This gallery also has 2 newly commissioned busts and the interactive allows you to watch a short film about them being created with subtitles in 8 different languages.

The Sill is the UK’s National Landscape Discovery Centre at Once Brewed in the Northumberland National Park. The Sill is a showcase of local pride and passion. It features a state of the art exhibition that brings our incredible landscape to life.

It includes geological exhibits; interactive displays; artwork installations and audio-visual displays. The aim of the exhibition is to transform how people discover and explore the natural and cultural heritage of the landscape.

The centre piece of the display is a large scale projection. An edge blended twin projection rig was used to provide an ultra wide image. This image was projected onto a 3D feature wall, which symbolised a cliff face. Pixel Stag configured the AV Stumpfl projector mapping system onto the various sections of the 3D surface.  

Pixel Stag designed and programmed a two player game on a large multitouch table which challenged you to save a landscapes from flooding. We produced a 3D landscape based upon the topography Northumberland’s National Park. The players were then tasked with using a number of flood defences to combat the flooding and see which were the most effective and sustainable.

We created an information point that allowed visitors to find out about a range of activities that are available in the National Park. Visitors could then email themselves maps and information about their selected activities and interests to their own devices.

Another interactive we created allowed the visitors to see landscapes from around the world. They were then asked to rate each landscape visual using simple to use icons. After they had viewed 10 landscapes their answers were compared with previous visitor information. The staff are also able to access this database of information and add new content if required.

Along with the computer interactive Pixel Stag created several interfaces for media players and some animations for several exhibits.

Muriel Spark (1918-2006) is one of Scotland’s greatest novelists.

As part of this centenary exhibition at the National Library of Scotland we created a interactive that takes you on a journey through Africa and allows you to explore a selection of her poems written during this time.

Proteus are a research group based in Edinburgh and are a collaboration between the University of Edinburgh, Heriot Watt and the University of Bath.

Currently, lung disease diagnosis and treatment is very hit and miss. An x-ray image is taken of the lungs and then several, non-specific drugs are used with the hope that one of them will target the disease. 

Proteus are creating a custom miniature optical fibre to go deep into the lungs to help improve diagnosis and allow for targeted treatment. 

Pixel Stag created two versions of this electromechanical and IT based game showing how this process works.  One is housed at Glasgow Science Centres, an the other is a mobile outreach exhibit to allow Proteus to engage members of the public with their research at events. 

An animation showing that as our understanding of evolution opened new intellectual horizons and philosophical questions about the place of humankind within history and led to the birth of stories about time travel.

Pixel Stag and Wavetek partnered on this new project for the National Library of Scotland's new visitor centre at Kelvin hall. This new facility is called the Moving Image Archive which stores all of Scotland's film and motion pictures. Their previous facility was in an industrial estate on the outside of Glasgow. Moving to the centre of Glasgow they have opened their doors to allow the public to come and explore the collection.

We created a huge video wall that has it own very simple content management system so the centre staff can update. The project also required the fit out of a view theatre, 4 archive room, teaching room and meeting room.

The new £4.5m museum development at Norton Priory in Cheshire opened in September and has already welcomed more than 10,000 visitors. It is built around the site of the most extensively excavated monastic site in Europe and we were commissioned to produce a series of digital interactives & films that illustrate many facets of its 900 year history as part of the Monastery to Museum 900 project. 

Pupils at a Dumbarton primary school have become the first in Scotland to benefit from a learning hub created by Glasgow Science Centre.

The Hub boasts interactive areas with a science lab, gathering space in the shape of a tree, a so-called ‘cave’ area for smaller group working, and a section with a digital screen linked to tablets for pupils to work on.

Pixel Stag created a digital jotter app to let children document experiments with video, photographs, drawings, text and tables.

The teachers can access a content management system which allows the to create templates for lessons, review all the content added by the pupils and publish show and tell presentations to the digital screens on the walls.

Quantum Technologies: Making the invisible visible is a hands on exhibition exploring the physics and engineering behind quantum technologies.  We created two interactives showing how light moves and the speed of light to help our young future scientists understand the quantum world.

'You are Here' is an exhibition that challenges what we know about maps, how they are made and how we understand them.  We created two interactives games that test visitors knowledge about the exhibits they have seen.

We created 2 interactive touchscreen exhibits for an exhibition that was first shown in the National Museum of Scotland and then went on to tour other Museums.

The first interactive allows visitors to watch 3 films that introduced the people who uncovered some remarkable fossil, discover the scientific techniques used to extract and identify them, and glimpse what life was like before the dinosaurs.

The second interactive explore the two fossils, Balanerpeton and Westlothiana and challeneges teh user to piece together there skeletons. 

As part of the National Library of Scotland new exhibition at Kelvinhall we were commissioned to create several films from their archive.  We digitised the footage and produced four films. 

We produced several listening posts for Edinburgh Napier University's War Poets Collection.  Five famous faces lent their voices to the poet's collection including Oscar-winning actor Sir Daniel Day-Lewis.  They recited poetry by Wilfred Owen, Siegfried Sassoon, Robert Graves and more.

This exhibition celebrates the life and work of Professor Sir Godfrey Thomson.  Sir Godfrey - who led the world's only nationwide IQ tests, in Scotland - was a pioneering educational psychologist who firmly believed that educational opportunity should not be linked to social status.

We edit archive footage and produced an iPad listening post so visitors could listen to extracts of his lectures and hear stories from his colleagues and friends.

We edited The Battle of the Somme into a short film as part of an introduction to a new exhibition at the Green Howards Museum.

This guided experience shows you how a baby develops from an embryo to 9 months old in its mother's womb.  You are able to explore the baby accompanied by a voiceover at several key stages.

We setup and installed an iPad for the public at Oban Distilleries tasting bar.  The iPad can then help visitors find whisky by flavour, type, or by starting with what they know. 

We were commissioned to design the software and supply and installation of hardware to Verdant Works new gallery space.

We produced software, films and audio productions.  We also supply and installation all of the hardware for the interactive multimedia and AV components within the new museum space in the High Mill Gallery & Glazed Alley at Verdant Works, Dundee.

Pixel Stag produced six touchscreen interactives for the Digital Collection Explorers. We also developed the Digital World interactive that offered visitors a ‘selfie’ opportunity. The system we created e-mailed the visitor with their picture and also displayed their ‘selfie’ in a digital display wall.

We took archive footage and images and created 2 animations and an animated poster for Edinburgh University’s Main Library Exhibition, ‘Towards Dolly: a century of animal genetics in Edinburgh’.

An animation for Blaenavon World Heritage Centre in Wales. Illustrator, Michael Blackmore, produced studies bringing to life some forgotten locations that were once bustling centres of activity during the Industrial Revolution.  We subtly animated them and added voice over and music to tell the story of this landscape.

This interactive book allows visitors to browse Charles Rennie Mackintosh sketchbook containing drawings from the later part of his tour through Northern Italian. 

Marking Pringle of Scotland’s 200th anniversary, this free exhibition traces the history of the company from a small hosiery firm making undergarments to an international fashion brand known for its outerwear. 

We had a very short timeline to produce this project.  From receipt of the archive footage we had a week to produce and add titles and credits, edit footage, create subtitles and encode.

Pixel Stag took archive footage and edited them into six videos for display in the exhibition.  We produced time coded subtitlingand encoded all files for loading by the AV installers.

We were commissioned by V&A in Dundee to assist with the installation of several pieces of video, an apps and haptic 3D modelling software for their travelling exhibition design in motion. We encoded video, secured iPads for public use and made sure all the equipment was set to run automatically with minimal staff input. 

We worked with several so content suppliers to format their media so it could be integrated into the AV installation. 

We convert 3 interactives for the travelling exhibition Making it Clear into Apple and Android apps as well as web compatible version for include within Scottish Waters website.  The apps are available on iTunes and Google Play.

We produced a 96" multitouch interactive for Nomads Exhibitions touring exhibition, Ming the Golden Empire.  One of the key artifacts was a map of the world created by Matteo Ricci in 1602.  Our interactive allowed you to explore the images and annotations describing different regions of the world, the trade and tribute routes sailed by explorers, pirates and merchants, and Matteo's own journey from Italy to China.

We also produced an animation where the architect of the Forbidden City is brought to life to guide your through one of his master plan of the city.

We were commissioned by drinks manufacturer Bacardi to create 30 of multi language RFID enabled audio, video and interactive kiosks for there new visitor centre at the Bombay Sapphire Distillery in Laverstoke. 

The visitors are given a map with an embedded RFID chip.  As they move around the distillery they can swipe it against our eInk, audio, video and feedback stations.  The station then provide them with the content in there language.  

We also log all the interactions so the staff can analyze the statistics and trends of the visitors and plan there tours accordingly.

These three interactives were created with Glasgow Science Centre as part of a traveling exhibition for Scottish Water that shows the different roles, responsibilities and process Scottish Water has to keep our water clean.

The BodyWorks exhibition is an exciting new approach to involving the public and school children in biomedical sciences. This practical ‘hands-on’ exhibition uses a combination of interactive exhibits and ‘live lab’ experiences to raise awareness of the science underpinning human health & wellbeing in the 21st century.

We were appointed as the software developers to design, develop, prototype and test IT based 24 interactives.

We worked with the client to develop there ideas into interactives that convey the interpretive messages in a fun and engaging manner. This involved careful collaboration with the science centre its partners, and a number of other suppliers.

The interactive exhibits comprised interactive games, quizzes, information points and content management systems. Many of the interactives logged the data inputed by the visitor and compare that with the previous visitor feedback. We incorporated a standardised ‘look & feel’ so the visitor was always familiar with the navigational elements of the interface no matter which display they were working. Visitor interaction was mainly through touch screens but some exhibits had additional electro-mechanical interaction.

We created two 96" multitouch interactives for Nomad Exhibitions touring exhibition a Tale of Two Cities.  The exhibition explores how Edinburgh, Scotland and Nanjing, China have shared key periods of development, and looks at how those developments were planned and implemented.  Each interactives allow 8 users to interact with either a map of Edinburgh, Scotland or Nanjing, China and compare the stories, architecture and that developed the cities.  Visitors can explore content from Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Scotland and never before seen artifacts from Nanjing Museum.

This interactive is part of a new exhibition by StudioArc which allows you to explore the history of the Theatre Royal in Glasgow and its recent refurbishment.  You can listen to oral histories, watch videos, search the database of all those involved in the redevelopment and much more.

We created 3 interactives for exhibition designed by StudioArc at the Devils Porridge Museum.

We created a game that allows kids to create cordite in the same way that the factory did in World War One.

The other two look at the rolls of the men and women of the local town and the Quintinshill Railway Disater.  

We produced two interactive's for StudioArc new exhibition for the National Glass Centre in Sunderland. The Glass Design interactive showed you the traditional methods for creating glass and also allowed you to create your own stain glass design and email it home.

The Cracking the Code multimedia shows you how to decipher the diamond registration mark on pressed glass and then allows you to create your own and email it home. 

This interactive allow users to listen to audio clips and learn about the roles of different members of the Scottish Association for Marine Science.

To coincide with the 21st anniversary of Richard Murphy Architects we produced a 25-minute dual projection 10m x 3.5m film featuring highlights from the last 21 years. It was the main feature of the exhibition of the Edinburgh-based architecture practice, held at the RSA as part of the 2013 Edinburgh Art Festival.

We also specified and installed all the hardware for the exhibition.

This animation in the University of Glasgow Visitor Centres guides you around the campus. We created a stylized 3D version of the campus using the university visual style.

We worked with AY-PE to take theres illustrations and concepts to created this interactive graphic novel for Highlanders Museum at Fort George in Inverness.  The illustrations come to life as you move through the story allowing you to play several games including stalk the deer, shooting range, find the clues, build a ghillie suit and ambush.

 

This multimedia is pat of the exhibition designed by Campbell & Co and allows you to explore the site of Knockando Wool Mill and see how it has developed over the centuries. The sites development is illustrated using 3D models produced by Fleming Woelfell Imaging.

We created this interactive timeline that explains the History of Oil in Aberdeen Maritime Museum as part of StudioSP refurbishment of museums exhibition spaces.

This interactive allows you to explore John Woods Plan of the Town of Kirkcaldy and for the key locations you can lookup archive photography.

We created these two interactive for the Andrew Carnegie Birthplace Museum. It is firstly been shown as part of a temporary exhibition at the Scottish Parliament designed by StudioArc. 

One interactive is aimed at children by using a series of simple and engaging games that allow them to and donate as much money as possible.

In the second interactive the visitor watches some of the worlds leading thinkers share their views on ‘Is world peace possible?’ and votes if the agree or not.

Collaborating with SIAV we created 5 interactive to highlight some key aspects of the British Golf Museums collection.

The first allowed you to create a magazine cover that you could email home by selecting clothing from past players.

With the second you can create your own club by selecting a grip, shaft and head.

The third show how golf spread across the world.

The forth is a quiz that test your knowledge about the medal and trophies on display.

The last interactive looks at the Club and Ball makers as golf is getting popular in the 1840's and 50's.

We created 3 different iPad apps for Aberdeen Maritime Museum. Each is located on a different floor of the museum and interprets the impressive 1:33 scale model of the Murchison Oil Platform.

The apps allow the users to watch videos, listen to audio and explore all the roles of the staff, the platform and the science behind the platform.

Working with Flemming Woelfell Imaging we created a large tabletop multitouch multimedia autopsy a skeleton discovered in the buried in the castle.  The English knight who may be Sir John de Strichely of the Stirling Castle garrison who died in his mid-20s on Tuesday 10 October 1341 after being wounded in the chest by a Scottish arrow.

The interactive was designed so four players could use it at once. It was built to run on a 42" Multitouch table. 

An interactive multimedia programme developed for the newly opened Rosslyn Chapel Visitor Centre exhibition designed by StudioArc. This project involved using rendered 3D scans of the building and creating a multimedia that allows users to fly through the chapel exploring the carvings.

We collaborated with SIAV and Bob Marshall to create animations, interactives and digital signage for Malahide Castle & Gardens Exhibition.  

The animation used images from diplomat and keen gardener Lord Milo Talbot's personal slide collection to illustrate his worldwide excursions.

The game Design Your Own Tree lets you can create your own tree from all the different species found in the gardens. You can pick the trunk, leaves, fruit, acorns and colours while finding out about each aspect.

The interactive Plant Survival enables you to explore how Lord Milo's plant collection came from all over the world. You can also read Lord Milo's notes on how the plants survived in his home at Malahide.

The interactive Around The World In Plants guides you around the world showing you all the different locations Lord Milo travelled too and collected plants from.

Knockan Crag is an un-staffed visitor centre on the west coast of Scotland. We collaborated with SIAV and Bob Marshall to produce a new interactive programme delivered in six languages and made up of four component sections, Scotland - The past 600 million years, multiple choice quiz, the Knockan puzzle, and a map based guide of Scotland’s National Nature Reserves (NNR).

We created 2 new interactives for Pictavia Visitor Centre located in the heart of historic Angus. Our worked included developing the concept through to illustrating, programing, and installing. 

We created this interactive for access gallery in Stirling Castle designed by StudioArc.  This interactive allows those with mobility issues to access all the information on display in the Stirling Heads Gallery which due to the castles architecture is difficult for some to access.  We also took several interactive that had already been produced and reconfigured them so they could be access from a single touchsreen station.
